 The proposed Elkhorn Project is a unique family vacation destination at the west end of downtown Estes Park, Colorado. The Elkhorn Project is designed to increase winter tourism to Estes Park through its preservation of the historic Elkhorn Lodge and its many buildings, the development of a ski and sport adventure park, and the expansion of cultural attractions in Estes Park with a cultural heritage museum and performing arts center.Together, these developments add new dimensions to the visitor experience, enhance the amenities available to local residents, and preserve one of Estes Park’s historic treasures. The Elkhorn Project Inc., in conjunction with the Town of Estes Park, is currently preparing an application for Regional Tourism Act (RTA) funding from the Colorado Office of Economic Development. If successful, this will provide a source of funds which will enable the historic preservation and associated development projects to proceed.
